- We currently have a direct hire employment opportunity for a Body Structure Design Egnineer in the Ann Arbor, MI. area. SKILLS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Looking for a Body Structure Design Engineer who will design and develop body related components using CAD to create 3D data and 2D drawings. Prepare technical reports on supplier capabilities and innovative technologies. Benchmark competitive vehicles to assess technology and trends. Improve the quality of vehicles.
- Create Bill of Material.
- Create and modify data and drawings using Catia v4/v5.
- Manage the planning and design progress of suppliers for part development Benchmarking activities.
- Experience negotiating styling and design requirements with the Design Studio and Manufacturing.
- Prepare technical reports.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Engineering.
- (5) years of experience with body components design and development.
- Understand FMVSS. NCAP and IIHS requirements.
- Experience estimating and creating Cost/Mass targets for components parts.
- Experience with concept to launch of a vehicle program.
